Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher focuses on an engaging Pre-K caseload of 13 students with mild to moderate needs. The position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with a standard Monday through Friday schedule, 7:15am to 3:15pm. Located near Henderson, NC, you will play an integral role in shaping early learning experiences for exceptional children.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Pre-K (state-specific)
• Must be fingerprinted to work with Pre-K populations
• Experience or coursework in early childhood special education strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education, IEP implementation, and early childhood milestones
• Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
• Outstanding classroom management and communication skills
• Adaptable, compassionate approach to individualized instruction and social-emotional development

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans to meet each student’s unique learning and behavioral needs
• Plan and implement effective strategies to promote academic growth and inclusion
• Maintain accurate records and progress reports, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements
• Collaborate closely with district staff, related service providers, and families to create a supportive learning environment
• Attend IEP meetings, share progress, and adjust instruction based on team feedback
