About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead and transform its engineering function. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing strategic departmental priorities, mentoring engineering staff, and building a cohesive, accountability-driven culture. This role goes beyond traditional project oversight, as the VP of Engineering will be the driving force behind the department's modernized mission, instilling structure, cross-functional discipline, and forward momentum. Daily responsibilities include accelerating R&D and product innovation, standardizing engineering processes, guiding advanced technical integration, optimizing manufacturing and sourcing strategy, and driving cross-functional alignment. Candidates for the VP of Engineering position at the company should have a proven track record in executive engineering leadership, with a focus on R&D and product development. Core technical competencies in mechanical engineering, fluid power systems, and automated controls/PLC platforms are essential. The role requires a hands-on leadership style, with the ability to lead by example and earn the respect of both shop-floor personnel and executive peers. A Bachelor's degree in engineering is strongly preferred, and a background in custom machinery, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing is a must. Experience in specialized industries such as railroad, heavy off-highway equipment, or specialized mobile machinery manufacturing is a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive the company's growth and market share expansion.
