Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your daily tasks will include:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to identify patients’ trauma history and associated needs accurately.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to promote resilience and progress toward recovery.
\n
• Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, incorporating modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at allowing patients to process trauma effectively and cultivate coping strategies.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists, social workers, and other practitioners to ensure a comprehensive approach to integrated patient care.

• Engaging in crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies to stabilize clients effectively.

• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, self-care strategies, and available community resources to further bolster support efforts.

• Maintaining meticulous and confidential documentation to meet legal and ethical standards while ensuring best practices in patient care.

• Participating in team meetings, consultations, and professional development opportunities, focusing on trauma-informed care approaches.

• Keeping abreast of current research and advancements in trauma therapy to continuously enhance treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base consists primarily of individuals who have experienced trauma in various forms, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma situations, and dissociative disorders. You will work with a diverse range of patients, from veterans and first responders to survivors of abuse and accidents. This role requires a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding trauma responses and a sensitive approach to patient care.

Qualifications\n

The candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems along with general computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is required, preference will be given to candidates with:

Compensation and Benefits\n
