Position Overview Bayview Psychotherapy Services is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality mental health care through telehealth. You will utilize telehealth tools to connect with clients, ensuring effective communication and support irrespective of geographical barriers. The work schedule encompasses weekdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate the needs of our diverse client base. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand each patient's unique experiences, providing a foundation for tailored treatment plans. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches, carefully considering patients' cultural and personal backgrounds. Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address a range of mental health concerns, enhance coping strategies, and foster resilience. Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care tailored to each client's needs. Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, demonstrating strong skills in de-escalation and safety planning. Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to empower informed decision-making. Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems as required. Actively participate in case conferences, team meetings, and cultural competency training sessions to continuously enhance service delivery. Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in mental health therapy, particularly those relevant to cultural considerations. Patient Population / Client Focus You will work with a diverse clientele, providing mental health care to a wide range of individuals, including ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. Understanding the distinct challenges faced by these groups will be crucial in delivering effective and compassionate care. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A current and valid license to practice as an LMFT, LLMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York. A comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment strategies, with a focus on culturally competent therapy. Demonstrated experience in delivering individual and group therapy, utilizing culturally responsive techniques. Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, with a capacity to manage high-pressure situations adeptly. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with a diverse range of clients. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and necessary computer applications. A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards while ensuring client confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve shared goals. Preferred Experience Experience in a multicultural setting, especially in outpatient psychiatry, is highly desirable. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy modalities will be an advantage. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
