Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThis position is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant will manage bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly. Additionally, this role involves detailed job costing and general ledger maintenance to support financial reporting and support decision-making.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accountsProcess and match packing slips, purchase orders and invoicesEnter, balance, post, and file accounts payable invoices in accordance with accounting standards and company policiesPrepare accounts payable check runs, mail payments and file remittancesProcess invoices to customers and ensure accurate billingInvestigate and resolve accounts payable and accounts receivable discrepanciesProcess customer credit applications and review status of delinquent accounts and initiate collection actionAssist and support audit activities by preparing schedules and documentation as requiredEnter cash receipts, deposit, pull paid invoicesProvide back-up support to the receptionist directing phone callsAnalyze account activity and support month-end and year-end closing processesPosition RequirementsPhysical ability to work requiring continuous sitting with frequent bending, twisting, and walking the entire shift.Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs. occasionally.2-5 years previous experience in general ledger maintenance, bookkeeping functions of accounts payable and accounts receivable in a manufacturing environment preferred.High school diploma or equivalent is required.
