CGP: Sr. Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a temporary Senior Staff Accountant to join their team. You will be an integral member of the accounting team, responsible for a wide range of tasks. This role requires working onsite for 2 days a week. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $45 to $50 per hour.


Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper accounting for lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842, prepaids, accruals, and intangible assets on a timely basis.
  
  
• Perform closing procedures by creating and reviewing journal entries, and conduct analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation for several general ledger accounts.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and SOX compliance, and assist in preparing detailed schedules for quarterly and annual audits.
  
  
• Manage leases from a financial team perspective to ensure rent, percentage rent, and occupancy costs are properly accounted for in the lease documents.
  
  
• Analyze new leases, lease modifications, and classify leases as operating or finance leases.
  
  
• Manage and prepare prepaid amortization, intangible assets, capitalized interest cost, accretion expense, and other journal entries.
  
  
• Develop and implement process improvements to maximize efficiency.
  
  

Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP required.
  
  
• Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance to the company.
  
  
• Effective communication skills with internal and external customers, vendors, and franchisees.
  
  
• Ability to interact, listen, and respond to customer needs effectively.
  
  
• Proficiency in making oral presentations to broad audiences.
  
  
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  
  

Experience:

• BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  
  
• 4+ years of accounting experience required.
