Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher supporting 4th graders through cross-categorical instructional programming. Located near Arlington Heights, IL, this contract opportunity involves working with elementary students who have a variety of academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs. Your teaching will align with grade-level standards, individualized IEP goals, and the delivery of tailored supports.

You’ll be part of a well-resourced classroom, collaborating with a dedicated program aide and additional 1:1 support staff, to create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Your expertise will help students thrive academically and socially, utilizing innovative methods and collaborating closely with related service providers.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher credential, meeting Illinois state requirements
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education setting
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Proficiency in cross-categorical and individualized instructional strategies
• Strong collaboration skills to work with support staff and related service providers
• Ability to employ structured, visual, sensory, and behavioral interventions

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver instruction tailored to student IEPs and grade-level standards
• Use evidence-based supports for academic, behavioral, and communication growth
• Monitor progress, collect data, and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with aides, 1:1 support staff, and specialized service providers throughout the school day
• Foster an engaging, supportive classroom atmosphere
