Accounts Payable AssociateBanesco USA is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate for our Accounting Business Unit.Primary Job Duties:Responsible for processing invoices for the bank in Banktel System (Ascend).Responsible for processing the accounts payable checks, ACH & Direct Deposits ensuring signatures are obtain from authorized officer, copies are kept in the file and check are mailed to vendors on a timely basis.Investigate, review, and ensure all Accounts Payable invoices are properly authorized in accordance with the expense guidelines.Ensures that any new contract/leases etc., are forwarded for input in Accounts Payable system.Responsible for the distribution of the mail and ordering supplies for the Accounting, Finance & Treasury departments.Post general ledger entries for the Accounting, Finance & Treasury departments and reviews the report on the next day for accuracy and completeness as well as obtaining approval signature from the authorized accounting officer and prepare portfolio to upload into Synergy on a monthly basis.Responsible for preparing entries related to bank charges.Balance the Petty Cash monthly, record any expenses and replenish funds for Coral Gables and Puerto Rico Branch.Responsible for the filling and the record retention inventory.Review monthly prepaids report for items to expire and send email confirmations.Assists with the preparation and transmission of Use Tax Provision monthly.Assists with the Puerto Rico back-up withholding (vendors/customers) monthly.Assists with the preparation of the 1099 Miscellaneous and 1042 S Tax Forms annually.Assists in updating procedures manual for the accounts payable area.Assists the Accounting Supervisor, as necessaryResponsible for completing annual training program assigned.Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.Experience: Two (2) years of experience in the Banking industry or in the Accounting field.Advance computer skills including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish.
