Senior Client Accountant

District Partners has been engaged by a top RIA Wealth Management firm to fill Senior Client Accountant role, who will be responsible for leading and overseeing key accounting functions within the Business Management and Personal Accounting division of the Family Office.

This senior-level role requires applying advanced professional accounting knowledge, exercising independent judgment on complex matters, and managing sophisticated financial activities across a diverse and high-net-worth client base. The Senior Client Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of client financial reporting, serves as a senior point of contact for client advisory teams, reviews the work of and mentors junior accounting staff, and drives broader departmental goals through advanced analysis, process improvement, and problem-solving.

This is a hybrid position that will be four days in the office and one day working from home.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare, review, and approve monthly and quarterly financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution to client advisory teams.
• Perform and review monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving complex discrepancies using professional judgment; reconcile investment activity and month-end investment balances on a cost and FMV basis.
• Coordinate processing of payroll through approved payroll provider, aid clients in onboarding new client employees, and assist in identifying payroll issues to be brought to the attention of the clients.
• Create, review, and approve adjusting tax journal entries and ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation.
• Lead additional reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting as needed based on client or advisory team requests, taking ownership of the most complex client engagements.
• Serve as a senior resource and mentor to junior accountants, reviewing their work, providing training and guidance, and helping to develop team capabilities.
• Collaborate with and advise client advisory teams on complex client matters, offering senior-level accounting expertise and strategic guidance.
• Oversee timely bill payment processing and ensure proper internal controls are designed, followed, and continuously improved.
• Assist team on onboarding new clients, tracking onboarding progress, and ensuring onboarding tasks are completed on a timely basis.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve the overall quality and efficiency of client deliverables.

What You'll Have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional accounting and bookkeeping experience, including experience reviewing the work of others.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred.
• Investment accounting experience preferred.
• Family Office, business management, or high-net-worth client experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and related software tools.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and advisors at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to apply advanced accounting knowledge, exercise sound judgment, manage competing deadlines, and lead by example.
