This position allows for a flexible work schedule, primarily functioning in a remote setting while also engaging with clients at our outpatient clinic. Regular office hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, providing a structured, yet accommodating, working environment. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality mental health care to seniors.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying unique emotional and psychological needs.

• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing emotional difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and bereavement experienced by seniors in our care.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare teams, ensuring a holistic approach to the care of geriatric residents.

• Engage and educate family members and staff about effective communication and coping strategies to enhance the quality of life of elderly individuals.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for residents and their families, providing a safe space to discuss end-of-life issues and emotional struggles.

• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and targeted mental health interventions that promote mental acuity and improve the overall well-being of older adults.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role is primarily focused on geriatric clients experiencing a range of issues, including but not limited to, mental health challenges stemming from aging such as memory loss, loss of loved ones, and significant life transitions. Our target population values a nuanced understanding of their unique experiences and the sensitive delivery of mental health care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

• A minimum of four years of recent experience in delivering geriatric counseling and mental health support.

• Exceptional communication skills and an ability to develop rapport with elderly clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
