Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3 × 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 Hours/Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity, cardiac-focused Progressive Care Unit managing complex cardiac conditions including Heart Failure, A-Fib, VTach, VFib, STEMI/NSTEMI, and LVAD patients
• Independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt (paper-based, caliper-required; no remediation opportunities)
• Manage and titrate common cardiac drips including Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
• Support procedural care including Right/Left Heart Catheterizations, Sheath Removal/Management, TR Band Management, Cardioversions, Ablations, Pacemakers, ICDs, and Groin Site Management
• Manage chest tubes and assist with post-procedural monitoring for valve replacements, stent placements, and other cardiac interventions
• Float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed; travelers will not float to Cardiac Monitor Tech roles

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Georgia (or compact license eligibility)
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit (PCU/Telemetry/Stepdown) experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry interpretation and cardiac drip management
• Must achieve a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
• Chest tube experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local travelers

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Heart transplant experience preferred (training available if needed)
• LVAD experience preferred (training available if needed)
• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or PCU setting
• Familiarity with congenital heart disease patient populations
