Administrative Coordinator - Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences

Position Overview The Administrative Coordinator (AC) serves as the primary office, academic, and events administrator for a portfolio of departments within the College of Arts & Sciences . The AC coordinates and executes the office and administrative functions essential for the daily operations of undergraduate and graduate programs, provides first‑line assistance to faculty, students, visitors and stakeholders, and represents the department with campus partner offices. Duties Holistic management of department office space(s) and associated administrative functions. Workforce planning, recruitment, and supervision of student employees. Collaborate with department leadership to manage course and classroom scheduling each academic term. Provide end‑to‑end support for department‑wide events; consult with leadership on conferences or faculty‑organized events. Manage the department website and social media content in partnership with the College’s communications team, and coordinate technology management with the university IT department. Work Interactions The AC reports directly to a designated Business Manager and maintains a dotted line relationship to the department chair(s). The AC collaborates daily with faculty, staff, and students and liaises with internal and external stakeholders regarding departmental administrative needs. Mandatory Documentation Must submit a cover letter and resume. Mandatory documentation demonstrated on application. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma and 5+ years of administrative experience, or equivalent education and experience, preferably in higher education or a non‑profit environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate resourcefulness. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Working knowledge of CourseLeaf, Cognos, and/or Workday. Experience in website management and social media platforms. Work Mode Hybrid; position may be reviewed for future changes. Compensation $21.16 – $35.29 per hour. Compensation is determined by qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
