Business Development Manager, Retail/CPG Solutions - GTM Team

The retail industry is undergoing massing change, and AWS wants to assist line-of-business leaders to not only adopt the cloud, but also transform and modernize their businesses. Our Retail/CPG industry business unit is seeking a seasoned retail expert with experience selling and implementing large-scale projects, a track record of thought leadership in retail, and a strong understanding of technical solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry and its ecosystem, strategic thinking, and communication both written and presentations. We seek a clear point of view about the industry, expressed with a knowledgable and distinctive voice. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Key job responsibilities

• \tAnalyze the retail industry, drawing out trends and requirements.

• \tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to set the industry go-to-market strategy.

• \tPropose and justify novel solutions that can be scaled across the industry.

• \tEngage with c-level leaders in the retail industry, including presentations and workshops to solve line-of-business problems.

• \tProvide thought-leadership via blogs, e-books, podcasts, webinars, conference presentations, and participation with industry groups.

• \tUtilize sales tools to track strategic accounts and engage with field sales.

• \tDeliver highest level of sales and customer service to our clients.

• \tIndividual contributor influencing many teams.

• \tThis role requires up to 50% travel including international travel.

About the team

The AWS Retail/CPG industry business unit is focused on helping large retailers and brands innovate worldwide.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience

- Experience working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including, but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking

- Experience working with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration technologies, including, but not limited to, Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, or Cloud Operations

- Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage

- Experience thinking and working creatively to develop unique joint value propositions and product strategy within a partner ecosystem

- Deep expertise in Physical Stores operations/execution and/or supply chain for retailers.

- 10+ years of solving problems with technology in the Retail/CPG Industry experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA

- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations

- Experience working for both retailer(s) and software vendor(s) selling to retailers.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
