Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Rotate between two units: D6/5 IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and B4/3 IMC Thoracic Surgery unit
• Care for patients with lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, decortications, esophagectomies, and other thoracic procedures
• Assist with chest tube insertion procedures in the procedure room located within the unit
• Patient ratio is 3:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
• Thoracic experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
• Charting experience with Epic required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only)
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher; travelers have two attempts to pass
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of vasoactive and insulin drips, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
