Job Details Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse / Travel RN Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 Setting: 31-bed mixed-acuity unit supporting adult medicine, stepdown, and med/surg patients Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shifts Schedule: 36 hours per week; typically 3 shifts per week Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940-$2,040 Start Date: 10/5/2026 Orientation: 24 hours Charting/Unit Tools: EPIC and Omnicell Additional Notes: First-time travelers are welcome; floating within the organization may be required Job Requirements At least 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care nursing experience required Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Must be comfortable with CPAP/BiPAP management, titrating cardiac drips, and supporting charge-level nursing responsibilities on night shift Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, wound vacs, and feeding tube management preferred Ability to float to other inpatient units within the organization as needed Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program required Flu vaccine required unless medically exempt Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients with mixed-acuity needs in a progressive care unit Monitor and manage telemetry patients, including those requiring non-invasive ventilation and cardiac drip titration Care for medicine, stepdown, and med/surg patients with respiratory and chronic disease conditions Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated patient care Perform assessments, administer medications, and provide ongoing patient education Document accurately in EPIC and maintain an organized workflow using Omnicell and unit systems Serve as a resource in a charge-capable night shift role when assigned Adapt to floating assignments while maintaining excellent clinical standards and patient-centered care Apply now for this PCU travel nurse job in Columbus, Ohio and join a team that values strong clinical skills, collaboration, and quality patient care.
