Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at People's Talk, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual therapy sessions and facilitating group therapy for clients, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

• Assessing clients’ mental health needs through thorough evaluations and developing tailored treatment plans.
\n
• Engaging in regular case discussions with peers to share insights, case strategies, and foster a collaborative spirit.
\n
• Maintaining accurate and confidential client records, following HIPAA regulations and best practices for digital file management.
\n
• Providing crisis intervention and support to clients as situations arise, ensuring immediate and effective responses.
\n
• Participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities, including access to free Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain your licensing requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselors at People's Talk primarily work with adolescents and young adults, addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. This specific focus allows for deeper engagement, enabling you to build meaningful relationships with clients. With a maximum of eight clients in group settings, you will have the opportunity to conduct in-depth therapeutic work that promotes effective healing processes.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
\n
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or an equivalent credential.
\n
• Availability to provide between 12 to 40 hours a week of therapy services, depending on the employment structure (contract or W2).
\n
• Willingness to include evening or weekend sessions in your schedule as necessary to accommodate client needs.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experience will be advantageous:

• Previous work within community health settings or experience in substance use treatment.

• Familiarity with both in-person and virtual therapy approaches.
