Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable SpecialistWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced accounting team. This role is responsible for processing a large volume of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, possesses strong organizational skills, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $24 and $28/hr.ResponsibilitiesProcess a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents while resolving discrepancies.Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, wire transfers, and other payment methods.Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances or payment issues.Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, invoice discrepancies, and account reconciliations.Maintain accurate vendor records, including tax documentation and banking information.Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure timely payment of obligations.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment issues.Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the accounts payable function.QualificationsAssociate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.2+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.Experience processing large invoice volumes with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach.Pay Details: $24.00 to $28.00 per hourEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply
