HR Generalist

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and employee-focused HR Generalist to support daily Human Resources operations and serve as a resource for employees and leaders across the organization. This role provides support for employee relations intake, workforce management processes, and serving as backup support for payroll administration. The HR Generalist will act as a trusted partner to employees and leadership by ensuring HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company policies and business objectives. This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Employee Relations Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, workplace issues, and policy-related questions. Conduct thorough and objective intake meetings, documenting concerns, timelines, and relevant facts. Triage employee relations matters and elevate complex or high-risk issues to HR leadership as appropriate. Support investigations involving workplace concerns, policy violations, and employee complaints. Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and case documentation. Workforce Management & HR Operations Support day-to-day workforce management requests including scheduling adjustments, attendance concerns, time‑off requests, and staffing-related inquiries. Partner with field managers to ensure consistent application of attendance, scheduling, and workplace policies. Monitor attendance and workforce trends to identify potential issues, gaps, or compliance concerns. Maintain employee data accuracy within HRIS (UKG), workforce management, and related systems. Assist with off‑boarding, employee status changes, and general HR administrative processes. Payroll Support Provide backup support for payroll processing during absences, peak periods, or business needs. Assist with timecard audits as needed to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked, overtime, and pay adjustments. Respond to employee payroll‑related questions including pay, deductions, and direct deposit inquiries as needed. Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. HR Compliance & Process Improvement Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and HR best practices. Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows, processes, and employee experience. Assist with HR initiatives, projects, audits, and training programs as needed. Support implementation of HR policies, procedures, and company‑wide initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive HR experience required. Experience in employee relations, payroll support, workforce management, or HR operations strongly preferred. HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and employee relations principles. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities. Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, workforce management systems, and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily office-based with occasional travel to field or operational locations as needed. May require extended hours during payroll cycles, investigations, or peak business periods. The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
