Accounting Assistant

Job Description
SHR Talent is partnering with a real estate organization in the Milwaukee, WI area to hire a Temporary Accounting Assistant for an assignment beginning in December 2026 and continuing through April 2027.
\nThe Temporary Accounting Assistant will support day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on commission payroll processing and journal entries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accuracy while working with time-sensitive financial information.

- Location: Milwaukee, WI area \n
- Compensation: $28–$30 per hour \n
Key Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Process daily commission payroll accurately and within established deadlines \n
- Prepare and post journal entries \n
- Review accounting information and supporting documentation for accuracy \n
- Research and assist with resolving discrepancies \n
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records \n
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the accounting team \n
- Assist with additional accounting functions and special projects as assigned \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- Previous experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, or a related function \n
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and journal entries \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy \n
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet daily deadlines \n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software \n
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills \n
