Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite at our surgical center facility, where you will enjoy a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Your typical work week will be from Monday to Friday, consisting of 8-hour shifts. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology to assist in your diagnosis and treatment efforts, ensuring that you have everything you need to succeed in your role.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in our Pain Management department, your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Establishing and nurturing effective relationships with patients and their families, ensuring a compassionate approach to care.
• Conducting thorough physical examinations and diagnostic tests to accurately identify the source of patients' pain.
• Providing expert consultation to fellow medical staff on complex cases requiring pain management oversight.
• Educating patients on various pain management techniques, including lifestyle modifications, stress reduction methods, and the application of physical therapy devices.
• Engaging in clinical research to discover innovative pain management practices and treatments.
• Prescribing appropriate medications in accordance with state regulations and overseeing patients' treatment regimens.
• Monitoring postoperative patients to manage their recovery effectively and prevent complications.
• Coordinating treatment plans with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs.
• Consulting with physicians regarding alternative pain relief strategies for patients at risk of dependency on narcotics.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant in this role will work primarily with patients experiencing chronic and acute pain, including post-surgical pain management and patients suffering from conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain. Your ability to communicate effectively, understand a variety of patient backgrounds, and tailor your approach to meet their individual needs will be critical in ensuring successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant certification.
• A valid Physician Assistant license in Nevada, with an exemplary standing.
• National certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority.
• Strong foundation in medical terminology and pharmacology.
• Exceptional communication abilities and team collaboration skills, especially in high-pressure scenarios.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues alike.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preferred experience includes prior practice in a pain management or surgical setting, familiarity with chronic pain conditions, and a background in evidence-based pain treatment methodologies. Understanding the implications of opioid prescriptions and alternatives in pain management is also highly valuable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary in the range of USD 120,000 to 140,000 annually, reflecting your experience and contributions to patient care. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
