Association, Attorney & Professional Fiduciary Partnership Programs Position Title: Business Development Associate Department: Marketing / Business Development Location: Woodcliff Lake, NJ, in office, M-F, 8:30am – 5:30pm, business attire Reports To: Director of Marketing Position Summary Colonial Surety Company is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Associate to expand awareness of our Association, Attorney, and Professional Fiduciary Partnership Programs through strategic outreach to associations, trade organizations, attorneys, professional fiduciaries, and other referral partners. This role is responsible for generating qualified referral relationships through direct outreach, event participation, association partnerships, webinars, email follow-up, demonstrations, presentations, and relationship-building activities. The ideal candidate is an energetic communicator who enjoys networking, developing business relationships, and helping organizations connect their members with valuable surety, fidelity, and business insurance solutions. Key Responsibilities Association & Referral Partner Development Identify and prospect bond and legal associations, professional fiduciaries, attorneys, probate courts, and trade organizations nationwide. Develop and maintain relationships with attorneys, professional fiduciaries, bond associations, franchise associations, and other referral partners. Secure sponsorship, advertising, webinar, and partnership opportunities. Coordinate referral agreements and strategic partnerships. Maintain an active pipeline of association and referral opportunities. Conduct outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach campaigns. Schedule meetings, demonstrations, and presentations with prospective referral partners. Promote Colonial Surety's partnership programs, products, and services. Coordinate educational webinars and virtual presentations. Work in tandem with the Marketing team on email campaigns, hyperlinks, landing pages, and collateral initiatives. Generate qualified prospects through referral partnerships and outreach efforts. Leads are available for referral partner calls, emails, and follow-up activities. Track all opportunities and activities within CRM systems. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely follow-up and lead management. Event & Industry Participation Attend conferences, networking events, and association meetings. Represent Colonial Surety at industry functions. Coordinate speaking opportunities and educational presentations. Assist with event planning and logistics. Reporting & Analytics Maintain accurate CRM records and activity reports. Track partnership performance, referral link activity, and click-through rates. Provide weekly reports on outreach activities, meetings, and opportunities. Report weekly and monthly on overall outreach effectiveness, follow-up efforts, and activity levels. Qualifications Required 5+ years of business development or sales outreach experience. Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace. Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Willingness to travel periodically for industry events and meetings. This is an in-office position, M-F, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, with business attire at all times. If you cannot comply with this policy, please do not apply for the position. Preferred Experience in insurance, surety, fidelity, or financial services. Knowledge of commercial insurance, surety, and fidelity bonds. Experience with ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar prospecting tools. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. Performance Metrics Success in this position will be measured by: Number of new association relationships established. Number of referral partner agreements executed. Demo scheduling and completion results. Webinar and event attendance. Outbound activity levels (calls, emails, meetings, and presentations). Partnership-generated revenue. CRM activity and reporting accuracy.
