The Family Health Behavioral Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team in Torrance, California. Work Environment

This remote position allows for flexible working arrangements while connecting you directly to our outpatient clinic in Torrance. Our team operates in a cooperative spirit, ensuring that every member has the resources and support necessary to provide exceptional care. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. The role offers stability, with a salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, reflecting our commitment to valuing our team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments to understand the diverse needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents.
• Create and implement tailored treatment plans that account for the developmental stages and unique family dynamics of each patient.
• Utilize evidence-based methodological approaches to deliver key therapeutic interventions for a spectrum of mental health issues.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at empowering parents and caregivers to foster a nurturing and supportive home environment.
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to coordinate treatment, ensuring holistic care for our patients.
• Provide crisis intervention strategies and support during mental health emergencies to ensure patient safety and stability.
• Educate families on mental health disorders, treatment pathways, and available community resources to empower them in their care journey.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with both legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate actively in clinical team meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development trainings.
• Stay up-to-date on ongoing research and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry to inform practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position specifically targets child and adolescent mental health, dealing with a varied patient population experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other behavioral conditions. You will work holistically with young individuals, their families, and a team of dedicated professionals to map out effective treatment plans conducive to positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure in California as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist is necessary.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a similar setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in addressing child and adolescent mental health issues, as well as proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Experience in providing therapy to both individual young patients and their families is highly desirable.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities to build rapport and trust with children and their guardians are crucial for success in this role.
• A working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential for maintaining patient documentation efficiently.
