HR Generalist

Job Summary Broan‑NuTone is seeking a detail‑oriented, conscientious HR Generalist (HRG) to join the Human Resources team. The position is located onsite in Hartford, WI, and will involve a wide range of HR activities including onboarding, reporting, leave management, recruitment, employee relations, and ongoing HR process support. Job Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to employees, investigating and resolving questions received via walk‑in inquiries, phone calls, or emails. Escalate when appropriate. Maintain and update HR forms and related documentation. Facilitate exit processes by conducting exit interviews and contributing to turnover analysis, identifying trends, and remediation efforts. Support benefit‑related questions and assist with leaves of absence, disability programs, and related coordination with employees and managers. Resolve leave issues, including pay, return‑to‑work, and work restriction matters. Partner with local safety teams as needed and maintain comprehensive knowledge of company policies and procedures. Guide employees and leaders, assist in training leaders, and support employee relations investigations with prompt and thorough conflict resolution. Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and maintain current knowledge of new laws and legal trends affecting HR activities. Collaborate with business leaders on staffing needs and recruitment, support the onboarding process, and promote the company’s mission, vision, culture, DEI, and brand. Serve as a Frontline Obsession (FLO) ambassador, participating in ideation and leading by example. Support HR projects, programs, and initiatives, and assist in coordinating events and meetings. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (completed). Bachelor’s degree or prior college coursework preferred. HR certification desired. Two or more years of relevant HR support experience in a fast‑paced business environment; professional HR experience strongly preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently, while asking for assistance when needed. Strong accuracy, attention to detail, organization, follow‑up skills, and exceptional time‑management abilities. Friendly, enthusiastic, approachable, and accessible to employees. High degree of professionalism and influence over business processes and decisions. Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS experience preferred. Ability to thrive in a changing‑priority environment, demonstrate problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, and act as a decision maker. Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to move safely throughout office and plant areas, as needed, with or without accommodation.
