Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures, including the operating room (OR) as a first assistant, providing support during laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries.
• Perform daily patient rounds, assessing surgical patients, and delivering ongoing care in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings.
• Craft and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough assessments, examinations, and diagnosis.
• Facilitate smooth hospital admissions and discharges while managing clinical documentation and orders.
• Provide comprehensive patient education, including pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient flow and care delivery within our surgical practice.
• Participate in emergency department and critical care unit consults, offering expert assessments and recommendations.
• Maintain adherence to clinical practice guidelines and state regulations in all patient interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will work with a diverse patient population, spanning all ages and often presenting a variety of complex surgical needs. Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Nevada.
• Current DEA License and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is required within the first 12 months of employment.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration within the healthcare team.

• Strong organizational abilities and a detail-oriented approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in surgical or hospital medicine, with a preference for candidates who have OR first assist experience, particularly in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
• Experience in critical care or emergency medicine settings would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a salaried position offering a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 130,000 to 170,000, complemented by bonuses based on performance. Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes paid licensing and certification fees, along with coverage for DEA expenses.
