Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to understand clients' mental health concerns and formulate appropriate treatment plans.

• Provide individual therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or others tailored to the client’s specific circumstances.

• Establish collaborative therapeutic goals with clients and monitor their progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to promote effective outcomes.

• Utilize teletherapy platforms to deliver virtual therapy sessions, ensuring continuing support for clients who may have mobility or transportation challenges.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all therapy sessions and client interactions, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and regulations.

• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, webinars, and peer supervision to enhance clinical competencies and stay current with industry practices.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license from the state of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist (PsyD).

• A bachelor's degree in a related field is required; however, preference is given to candidates with a master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• A compassionate, empathetic approach to counseling, showing sensitivity to clients’ challenges and backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor is required, experience in a community health setting or private practice is highly desirable. Familiarity with teletherapy practices and technological platforms used for virtual sessions will also be advantageous.
