Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to work in both a middle school and a high school, serving diverse learners and collaborating with supportive educational teams during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Kansas Special Education license (required)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting preferred
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for team-based approaches
• Passion for supporting students with varied learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs at both Emporia Middle School and Northern Heights High School
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to foster student success
• Maintain accurate records, provide ongoing assessments, and monitor student progress
• Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to a multidisciplinary educational approach
• Adhere to school policies and state special education regulations
• Employ current best practices and adapt to meet the unique needs of each student
