Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference in the lives of students as a contract Special Education Teacher serving two supportive school communities in Kansas. This full-time, onsite position will allow you to expand your experience working with a range of students, collaborating with dedicated professionals, and utilizing your creativity and expertise to develop individualized learning strategies.

Ideal candidates are passionate about inclusion and have experience adapting instruction for diverse learners. Your primary work sites will be a middle school in Emporia and a high school in Allen, ensuring variety and meaningful opportunities to foster student growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license required
• Previous experience in special education at the middle or high school level preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet students’ unique learning needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Monitor progress and modify instructional techniques as necessary
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state special education guidelines
• Promote self-advocacy and independence among students
