Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract position serving K-12 students as a school counselor for a respected district in the Fort Worth area. This full-time opportunity is available from August through December, providing invaluable support to cover maternity leaves during the fall semester. You’ll be working onsite with a diverse caseload of 75-85 students, utilizing your expertise to conduct behavioral threat assessments and deliver essential counseling services across various grade levels.

Key qualifications:

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
• Active Texas School Counselor Certificate issued by SBEC (accepted credentials include LPC, LCSW, LP, or LSSP)
• Previous school counseling experience is highly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage thoughtfully with students, families, and faculty
• Experience in conducting behavioral threat assessments, crisis intervention, and managing a diverse K-12 student caseload

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services to students K-12, adapting interventions and supports based on individual and group needs
• Complete behavioral threat assessments as required, maintaining detailed documentation
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to craft effective interventions and foster a supportive learning environment
• Assist students in developing social, academic, and emotional skills while acting as an advocate for their overall well-being
• Deliver crisis counseling and support as needed, maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to all district and state guidelines
