Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual treatment sessions in-person within clients' homes or virtually through our secured online platforms, ensuring a comfortable environment for each child.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist clients with anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development, focusing on reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.

• Support decision-making processes for both adolescents and caregivers in managing challenging behaviors at home, fostering a cooperative dialogue to promote positive change.

• Collaborate effectively as part of the Child Family Treatment Team, maintaining open lines of communication with multidisciplinary professionals working towards integrated care solutions.

• Ensure meticulous documentation of all client interactions, progress notes, treatment plans, and intake records, consistently adhering to compliance and confidentiality standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on client experiences and ongoing case studies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our targeted service population includes children aged 3 to 20 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Many of these young individuals face challenges that require specialized attention and care strategies. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related mental health field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Maryland.

• Availability to offer a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically between 4-7 pm, with some flexibility for weekend sessions.

• A strong understanding of child and adolescent development is crucial.

Preferred Experience\n

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits.
