Remote‑friendly, hybrid, and in‑person opportunities are available. Job Summary The Collections Representative follows up with insurance companies to resolve unpaid claims. Key Responsibilities Research overdue account balances and follow up by mail and/or phone with insurance carriers or customers on delinquent payments. Review unpaid and under‑paid claims; resubmit or appeal as necessary. Verify payment information and submit adjustments to the supervisor. Coordinate collection activities for delinquent accounts by preparing information for external collection agencies or attorneys. Comply with the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act (FDCPA). Respond to customer inquiries regarding account status. Thoroughly research customers’ accounts and document findings appropriately. Resolve discrepancies and prepare adjustments and refunds as necessary. Ensure accurate entry of collection activity data into the billing system. Bring recurring issues to the supervisor’s attention. Initiate payments and resubmit bills as necessary. Pursue patient payment obligations when insurance defaults, as permitted by law or contractual relationships. Report to work punctually, maintaining reliable attendance. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma required. One year of related experience required. Skills & Knowledge Business acumen. Problem solving and analysis. Communication proficiency. Personal effectiveness and credibility. Computer skills: basic Word and Excel. English (reading, writing, verbal). Basic mathematical proficiency. Physical Demands This stationary position requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, and color vision. Occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, and reaching above the shoulder may also be required. Remote The role is remote and requires employees to reside within the United States. Company equipment may not be removed outside the country without prior authorization.
