About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN – Ohio

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (day or night available), weekdays and weekends; 3-4 weekend shifts per month; 1:4 patient ratio across all shifts

Highlights:

• Mixed medical-surgical and telemetry unit with 27 beds and average daily census of 23 patients
• Includes 6 progressive care transitional beds (PCU experience NOT required)
• EPIC EMR system utilized for documentation
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
• Float requirements to lower acuity units within the hospital system as needed
• 36 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active Ohio RN license (compact or state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• IV certification required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Strong skills in IV management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, chest tube care, PICC line management, and isolation precautions
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

Key Responsibilities:

• Start and manage peripheral IVs and central line care
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Monitor vital signs and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Provide patient and family education on treatments and self-care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate and timely documentation
• Manage specialized equipment including chest tubes, oxygen delivery systems, and isolation precautions
• Participate in rapid response and code situations as needed
