Begin a rewarding role supporting students with significant needs in a contract paraprofessional position, located near Andover, MN. In this opportunity, you’ll work at a specialized Setting 4 site dedicated to serving students who require intensive special education support throughout the entire school day. Students at this site range from elementary to high school ages and have a wide variety of disabilities and behavioral challenges. Your dedication will make a meaningful impact as you help these students achieve their best outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be considered “Highly Qualified” by one of the following:
- Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
- Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diploma or degree not accepted)
- Experience or high comfort level working with students exhibiting high-intensity behaviors and significant disabilities
- Willingness and ability to assist students with toileting as required
- Ability to adapt support across various age groups from elementary through high school
- Resume and proof of qualification must be submitted for consideration
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily direct support to students who are in special education full-time
- Assist with classroom activities, behavioral management, and individual education plans
- Help students with personal care, including toileting and hygiene needs
- Support instructional staff in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
- Cultivate positive relationships with students and staff
Details:
- Contract position, 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027
- Compensation is $20 per hour
Upon successful completion of 422 contracted hours, candidates may be considered for direct hire by the district.
