Step into a dynamic opportunity serving students as a floating paraprofessional across a diverse district in the Andover, MN, area. As part of a dedicated crew, you’ll step in to support elementary, middle, and high schools, offering much-needed assistance in SPED classrooms and with students who have behavioral needs. This essential, contract-based role is designed for adaptable professionals ready to engage with different teams and students each week.
What’s Expected:
- Serve as a substitute paraprofessional for call-outs within a designated crew (Champlin Park, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, Andover, or Rivertrail Learning Center).
- Work with students requiring behavioral intervention support (BIPS) and possibly provide assistance with toileting as needed.
- Perform 1:1 or classroom aide responsibilities, with flexibility to adapt to changing needs within each school site.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors to accept available shifts and provide coverage across your assigned area.
- Maintain reliable transportation to travel between school sites throughout the week.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience working in schools, particularly supporting students with behavioral challenges.
- Must meet at least one of the following: pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam, or possess 60+ college credits (with official transcripts).
- Flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of accountability.
- Highly qualified documentation and an up-to-date resume are required for consideration.
Key Details:
- Guaranteed 30 hours per week (when school is in session Monday through Friday).
- Schedules vary, generally within the standard school day (elementary hours approximately 9:10am-4:10pm).
- Pay rates: $20/hr for crew support and $21/hr for Rivertrail Learning Center support.
