Make a meaningful impact supporting students with significant needs in a specialized educational environment. This contract-based paraprofessional position is located at a Setting 4 site, where students receive special education services throughout the entire day, spanning elementary through high school ages. The role is designed for professionals who are dedicated, compassionate, and fully prepared to support students exhibiting the highest behavioral needs and severe disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be considered Highly Qualified (choose one):
- Pass the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (MN Para Educator Exam), or
- Provide at least 60 college credits with official transcripts (diploma or degree not sufficient)
- Experience or strong commitment to working with students in a Setting 4 site (100% special education)
- Confidence and willingness to assist with toileting and personal care routines
- Flexibility to work with a range of student ages (elementary through high school)
- Ability to follow established protocols and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support to students with diverse and significant needs
- Implement individualized education and behavior support plans under the guidance of certified staff
- Maintain a supportive, respectful, and safe environment for all students
- Assist with daily living activities, including toileting as required
- Prepare materials and support activities to promote engagement and learning
- Document and communicate observations regarding student progress and behavior
This contract opportunity offers 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, beginning in early September and running through mid-June. After 422 contract hours, you may be offered a direct hire opportunity. Compensation is set at $20 per hour.
