Make a meaningful impact supporting special education teams for the 2026-2027 school year as a Special Education Paraprofessional supporting the Evaluation Team. Based out of Champlin, MN, you’ll travel between local schools, collaborating with special education staff to ensure student evaluations run smoothly and efficiently. This unique role focuses on behind-the-scenes work rather than direct student contact, ideal for self-motivated professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, highly organized environment.
Your responsibilities will include handling student files, managing testing protocols, assisting with student observations and related write-ups, and keeping records up to date by purging and returning files to appropriate schools. This is a Monday through Friday position (32.5 hours per week) during regular school hours, running from September 8, 2026, to June 8, 2027, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must meet ONE of these criteria PRIOR to presentation:
- Pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (MN Para Educator Exam)
- Hold at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
- Strong ability to work independently, efficiently, and manage a substantial workload
- Excellent communication and attention to detail when collaborating with evaluation teams
- Experience with organizational tasks and student file management is highly valued
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with special education staff on evaluation activities
- Organize and update student records and files
- Support the logistics of evaluations, including observation documentation and test protocol management
- Travel between schools within Champlin, MN as needed
This contract position offers an hourly rate of $20, with the potential for direct hire by the district after 422 contract hours.
