In-Office Intake Coordinator

This is an in-office Intake Coordinator role for someone who knows the front door of home health inside and out. You won't be doing bedside care — you'll be at our Beltsville, MD office, running the referral-to-admission pipeline: taking referrals from hospitals and physician offices, verifying insurance, and getting patients on service quickly and cleanly. What the job actually looks like

You'll process incoming referrals from hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, and physician offices, verify insurance eligibility and benefits (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans), and gather the documentation that makes a clean start of care — physician orders, face-to-face encounter notes, demographics, and consents. A big part of the role is coordination: you'll work with our clinical team to get start-of-care visits scheduled within required timelines, and you'll keep referral sources in the loop so they keep sending patients our way. You'll work in WellSky as the system of record for referrals and intake, and you'll be the steady, reliable voice our referral partners and families count on. This is a desk-and-phones role: sharp attention to detail, speed without sloppiness, and a warm way with people who are often calling on a hard day.

What we're looking for

• Home health, hospice, or healthcare intake/admissions experience — this role assumes you already know how referrals work
• Working knowledge of insurance verification — Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans
• A sharp eye for detail with referral documentation and timelines
• Comfortable and professional on the phone with clinicians, referral sources, patients, and families
• WellSky experience is a plus; if you've used a different EMR or intake system, we'll get you up to speed
