Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Urology

This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality urological care to patients while working in a collaborative and professional healthcare environment.

As a Locum Urology MD, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of urological conditions, performing surgical procedures, and delivering comprehensive patient care. You will work closely with our dedicated medical staff to ensure the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient satisfaction are maintained at all times.

 

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with urological conditions, including urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, and prostate issues.
• Perform urological surgeries and minimally invasive procedures in accordance with established medical standards.
• Conduct patient consultations, review medical histories, and order or interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on clinical findings and best practices.
• Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide patient education on preventive care, treatment options, and post-operative recovery protocols.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urological emergencies as required.
• Stay current with advancements in urology and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical care.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and hospital or clinic policies.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Urology.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Arizona.
• At least 2-3 years of clinical experience in urology or a related surgical specialty.
• Strong surgical skills and experience with urological procedures, including endoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery.
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied patient caseload in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation standards.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and maintaining high ethical standards.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, specific shifts

No call required

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Patient Volume: 25

Patient Population: Adults

Responsibilities: Provide care for new and existing patients

Required Procedures: Cystoscopies, prostate biopsies, vasectomies, and robotic and non-robotic surgeries

Support Staff: Medical assistant

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified

Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and DEA
