Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Symbria, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, alleviate pain, enhance muscle function, and maintain the maximum physical capability of your clients in alignment with their individualized treatment plans.
• Supervising physical therapy assistants to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through various diagnostic assessments, including muscle, joint, and nerve testing.
• Assessing the home environment and making necessary recommendations to facilitate client independence and rehabilitation.
• Providing in-home physical therapy services as mandated by physician orders, employing therapeutic exercises and manual techniques.
• Administering controlled therapeutic modalities including traction, massage, and other physical agents effectively.
• Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, recommending modifications to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to the development and review of comprehensive care plans.
• Documenting all clinical records accurately, including initial evaluations, ongoing assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in alignment with OASIS standards.
• Engaging with clients and families to provide education on physical therapy techniques and the proper use of therapeutic devices.
• Completing functional assessments to revise treatment and support the utilization of community resources as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work closely with individuals experiencing a wide range of conditions that affect mobility and overall functioning. This includes post-surgical patients, those with chronic health conditions, and individuals recovering from injuries. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.

Preferred Experience
