Key Responsibilities\n

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting mental health evaluations and crisis interventions, using comprehensive assessment tools to identify patient needs and treatment options.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of inmates’ progress.

• Providing follow-up care and consistently reassessing treatment effectiveness to adapt to the evolving mental health needs of patients.

• Documenting patient interactions and treatment outcomes thoroughly in compliance with institutional policies and procedures, as well as state regulations.

• Coordinating with the Department of Correction to facilitate access to patients, ensuring they receive optimal housing and appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• Leading group therapy sessions and educational workshops for inmates on mental health topics and coping strategies.
\n
• Actively participating in case reviews and treatment planning meetings to enhance collaborative care for patients considering mental health treatment.

• Engaging in regular clinical supervision to refine your practice and seek guidance on complex cases.

• Completing necessary statistical reports to track program effectiveness and patient demographics.

• Potentially supervising social work interns or students, providing mentorship and support as they grow in the behavioral health field.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is providing mental health services to incarcerated individuals facing a variety of challenges, including behavioral problems, severe mental illness, and substance use disorders. You will work with a diverse group of patients, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet their unique needs and circumstances. Your interventions will play a critical role in improving their mental health outcomes and overall wellbeing during their time in correctional facilities.

Qualifications\n

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-R (LCSW-R), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of five years of full-time professional experience providing direct client care in a behavioral health setting, with at least two years post-licensure.

Preferred Experience\n

In addition to the required qualifications, preference will be given to candidates who have experience with:
