Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager supports an assigned practice group, department, and related industry and cross-practice groups. The Manager leads business development initiatives, partners with attorneys and practice leadership on growth opportunities, and works with colleagues across Marketing, Communications, PR, and Events to support group and firm priorities. Responsibilities Partner with practice group and department leaders and the Director of Business Development to develop and implement business development plans and initiatives. Work closely with attorneys to understand their practices, clients, and business needs; identify leads, new opportunities, cross-selling opportunities, and ways to expand existing client relationships. Develop pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, and partner with Research Services to provide relevant client, competitor, industry, and market intelligence. Develop and maintain client-facing marketing materials, website content, and other collateral, while supporting initiatives that raise the profile of the practice and its attorneys through events, speaking opportunities, alerts, articles, and other activities. Oversee Chambers, Law360, and other rankings and submissions, while maintaining attorney experience, matter lists, databases, and other business development resources. Provide attorneys with business development guidance and support client alerts, blogs, newsletters, and other practice-related communications. Partner with the PR team on media and publishing opportunities and with Practice Management on practice group, steering committee, and working group meetings and retreats. Work with practice leadership, the Director of Business Development, and Practice Management to develop and monitor the annual BD budget, track expenses, and facilitate approval of unbudgeted initiatives.
