Senior Accountant

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in a direct hire capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with large datasets to support financial reporting, month-end close activities, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules.
• Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports for management review.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
• Work extensively with large Excel spreadsheets and complex financial data sets.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze, reconcile, and validate financial information.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; Senior Accountant experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large Excel spreadsheets and high volumes of financial data.
• Strong experience creating and utilizing:
  • VLOOKUPs
  • Pivot Tables
  • Advanced formulas and data analysis tools
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA track preferred.
• Experience in a multi-entity or high-volume accounting environment.
• Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.
