This position will involve working within our Surgical Center, where you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating a diverse array of health conditions while prioritizing high-quality patient care and health promotion. Work Environment

The successful candidate will be based onsite at our Surgical Center in Brookhaven, working Monday through Friday during regular office hours, concluding at 5:00 PM. Our center is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and staffed by a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including five medical doctors and five nurse practitioners, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and thorough assessments of patients' medical histories.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies to accurately diagnose health conditions.
• Formulate individualized treatment plans for both chronic and acute ailments, ensuring holistic approaches to patient health.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patients for treatment efficacy and side effects.
• Maintain meticulous records and documentation of patient interactions and health management plans.
• Inform and educate patients regarding their health conditions, prescribed medications, and preventative measures.
• Promote wellness by advocating for lifestyle changes and disease prevention strategies among patients and their families.
• Maintain an open line of communication with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Engage in continuous professional development through research and clinical discourse to enhance personal clinical expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant at Dignity Medical Center, you will primarily interact with a diverse patient base seeking surgical and primary care services. Your role will be integral in not only managing acute health issues but also in guiding patients through recovery and rehabilitation processes, with a focus on empowering patients to take charge of their health.

Qualifications

• A valid Physician Assistant license from the state of New York is required.
• Must possess a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and a DEA number are mandatory.
• Two years of relevant clinical experience, particularly in primary care, acute care, or surgical settings.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in surgical procedures, particularly those relevant to our center's specialties, will be an asset.
• Proficiency in advanced patient management and follow-up, underscoring a commitment to patient education and preventative care.
