Wolfgang Puck Catering is seeking a collaborative and passionate Sous Chef to support a high-profile technology client in Austin. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic food program that includes a busy caf, catering services, and hospitality experiences designed to deliver restaurant-quality dining in a corporate environment.

As Sous Chef, you will partner with the Executive Chef to ensure exceptional food quality, operational excellence, and a positive team culture. You'll play an important role in daily kitchen operations, menu execution, catering support, team development, and maintaining the high culinary standards that define the Wolfgang Puck Catering experience. This position is ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, mentoring team members, and creating memorable dining experiences for guests and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Executive Chef to support the daily operation of the caf, catering program, and back-of-house culinary team.
• Coordinate and participate in food preparation, production, and service while maintaining consistency and quality standards.
• Assist with menu planning, seasonal offerings, and culinary innovation that aligns with client preferences and operational goals.
• Support the successful rollout of new menus, culinary initiatives, and promotional programs in collaboration with culinary and marketing teams.
• Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served according to company standards for quality, freshness, and guest experience.
• Lead by example while coaching, training, and developing culinary team members.
• Create and distribute production sheets and support efficient kitchen workflows.
• Partner with front-of-house and catering teams to ensure seamless execution of meetings, events, and special functions.
• Assist with purchasing, inventory management, and food cost control initiatives.
• Help manage labor efficiency, waste reduction, and overall operational performance.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and health department regulations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment centered on hospitality and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience supporting culinary operations within restaurants, catering, corporate dining, hotels, hospitality venues, or other quality-focused foodservice environments.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience with a passion for coaching and team development.
• Strong culinary knowledge with an understanding of current food trends, seasonal ingredients, and presentation standards.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and service excellence.
• Experience with production planning, ordering, inventory management, and food cost awareness.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
• Comfort working in a client-facing environment where hospitality and professionalism are highly valued.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic culinary management systems.
• Approximately five or more years of culinary experience, including experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Experience supporting workplace dining, corporate catering, or high-volume caf operations.
• ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
• Experience delivering high-quality food and hospitality services in fast-paced environments.
