Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the incumbent independently performs a variety of more responsible and complex analytical assignments related to contract and procurement development, consultation, and policies and procedures. The incumbent also performs varied analytical assignments related to contract administration, reporting and compliance of procurement activities performed within the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).

Working Conditions

These positions is located in Sacramento

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air-conditioned, High-rise building with elevator access. Cubicle with natural and artificial lighting.

• We offer a hybrid work schedule in accordance to DIR’s telework policy.
• The incumbent must be able to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period of time using a computer and telephone and interaction with coworkers and other stakeholders.

Special Requirements

Instructions: SOQ must be included. SOQ must fully address the following questions, typed in 12 point font on no more than two pages. Cover letters or generic SOQs not answering these specific questions will not be considered.

1. Please share your experience working on IT and non-IT contract and procurement assignments.
2. Describe an example of a work assignment you completed that demonstrates your analytical qualities.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Knowledge and/or experience in the State of California’s contract and procurement processes and procedures.
• Stong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise good critical thinking skills to guide decision making, and analyzing challenging problems and issues before recommending solutions.
• Ability to execute completed staff work.
• Knowledge of State contract and procurement standards and requirements and evolving industry trends and standards.
