• Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00 - 4:30 (with some flexibility)
• Pay: $17/hr

ABOUT HENRY KAUFMANN CAMPGROUNDS (HKC)

Home to 11 independently run JCC day camps, the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds manages and operates three facilities dedicated to summer day camping located in Long Island, Rockland County and Staten Island. We understand the impact that good experiences and learning can have on children. Our mission is to support our camps and let any child who attends them have a great and fulfilling summer while providing a safe environment.

About The Position

As the office assistant, you support the Director of Camp Services (DCS) in the management of camp operations, supporting the aquatics staff, and executing staff engagement activities. With the responsibility for a busy office, the office assistant serves as administrative foundation so that the DCS can have confidence that when in the field, everything is being taken care of in the office, and the DCS is being informed of any developments or emergencies so they are able to resolves issues that develop from day to day.

The office assistant also plays a critical role in setting the tone of the office, helping to make it a positive, warm environment whether it's through the phone or in person, where everyone, from staff to visitors, feels welcome.

To succeed in this role you need to have strong and effective communication skills, feel at home using Microsoft Office, and be comfortable learning new software. You have to be detail-orientated, comfortable dealing with personalities of all types and have the ability to work and think independently.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or the equivalent preferred
• Previous experience working in an office setting is a plus
