Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that address the unique emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of older adults.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that respect and incorporate the patients' life experiences, health status, and personal circumstances.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling, both in individual sessions and family therapy settings.

• Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive care for each patient, including attending case consultations and team meetings.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, effectively managing multiple situations that may arise in the elderly population.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and community support services available to them.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with established legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Actively engage in ongoing professional development through training and education, and stay updated on advancements and best practices in geriatric mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily focus on older adults, many of whom suffer from complex mental health issues often interlinked with their physical conditions. Understanding the nuances of geriatric psychology, you will build therapeutic relationships that not only focus on treating symptoms but also enhance the overall quality of life for your patients and their families.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.

• Exceptional knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatments.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with older adults and their caregivers.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient management and documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, preferably with the geriatric population.

Compensation and Benefits\n
