About This Role The Staff Nurse in the Nursing 7B MICU SICU Stepdown unit at Mount Sinai Morningside is responsible for providing comprehensive care to assigned patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention. Highlights Pay: $85.9387/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai Morningside Department/Unit: Nursing 7B MICU SICU Stepdown Schedule: Per Diem What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharge consistent with the patient's status and facilitate inter‑departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN program. Experience 1 year ICU nursing experience or 2 years' Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications Current RN License in New York State. BLS certification from AHA required. ACLS certification from AHA required.
