Work Environment

The position is onsite at our outpatient facility in Petersburg, where you will work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. The work hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. You will be responsible for managing a caseload that includes both new and ongoing patients, providing you with a variety of clinical experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of patients' physical abilities, including mobility, strength, and functional capacities, in accordance with industry standards and state guidelines.
• Design individualized Plan of Treatment (POT) based on evaluations, incorporating realistic, achievable short-term and long-term goals tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.
• Implement therapeutic interventions consistently, utilizing evidence-based techniques such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education to facilitate recovery.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, ensuring adherence to medical documentation protocols to enhance patient outcomes and maintain compliance.
• Remain active in professional development by attending workshops and continuing education programs to stay updated on best practices in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient therapy environment that promotes patient safety and comfort.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily treat patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and trauma. Our facility caters to a broad demographic, including athletes of all ages, older adults seeking rehabilitation post-surgery, and individuals recovering from injuries sustained in daily activities. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required; a Master's or Doctorate degree is preferred.
• An active Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia is mandatory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, including AED training.
• A minimum of two years of experience providing physical therapy services is essential, demonstrating proficiency in managing a variety of cases.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a genuine empathy for patients, allowing you to effectively motivate them throughout their recovery journey.
• In-depth knowledge of physical therapy equipment, along with best practices for utilization and maintenance, is crucial for ensuring safe therapy sessions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or preference in sports therapy is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is beneficial for efficient patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
