Business Development Manager

AWT has a Business Development Manager in our Grand Blanc location. This position would focus on Automotive businesses. Job Summary Responsible for managing and closing business that meets/exceeds sales expectations in targeted market segments. This position will identify and create a prospect base, qualify prospects, make presentations to current and potential customers, identify and prepare business solutions that highlight confirmed business needs and ultimately close the sale. Essential Functions Manage assigned prospects and customer list to maximize sales revenues and meet strategic business objectives. Develop specific sales plans to ensure revenue growth of AWT Labels & Packaging service offerings. Strong relationship building skills and ability to determine best solutions that fit customer requirements. Investigate account background, and prepare Business Fit, Business Solution /selling strategy that appeal to the customer’s needs. Solicit and engage internal AWT support personnel to help grow existing business and close new business when needed. Establish effective communications with AWT leadership to ensure proper sensitivity to customer needs. Solicit feedback from customers that helps AWT be more competitive and resolve problems. Provide accurate annual sales forecasts and get updates on customer business conditions when asked. Accurately and thoroughly complete all sales related paperwork and updates in customer database. Other duties as required or assigned by management. Present new market opportunities that fit our company capabilities Requirements Knowledge Base Based on the specific Sales assignment, this employee will have a demonstrated competency/understanding of Flexo and Digital print solutions; Labels and Shrink Sleeve sales assignments Understand basics of Total Applied Costs, Inventory Management, Supplier Managed Inventory and Variable Data print solutions Understand basics of Total Applied Costs, Inventory Management, and Supplier Managed Inventory.Understand Film structures used in targeted market segments. These include; Food- such as Salted Snack, Gourmet and medium run Pet Food film structures, Gourmet Coffee film structures, - Medical and household wet wipe or moisture barrier film structures Education and Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in business, sales, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Minimum of five years demonstrated successful sales experience. Solution selling background preferred. Previous sales success in one or more of the following markets is also desirable: Labels and Shrink Sleeves Medical Device/ Pharmaceuticals Prime Labels- Household, Health & Beauty Food & Beverage OEM and Industrial Flexible Packaging Food- such as Salted Snacks, Bakery, film structures Pet Food film structures Coffee film structures Medical and household wet wipe or moisture barrier film structures Qualifications / Personal Attributes Opportunistic- Ability to size up an opportunity quickly that fits AWT Labels & Packaging. (IE: Identification of key personnel; decision makers, evaluators, day-to-day process owners, and create a well written executive summary of the opportunity. Ability to learn the business and determine the solution potential that fits AWT Labels & Packaging. Comfortable calling on/ presenting to Senior Management decision makers Strong sense of urgency Demonstrated ability to sell to multiple contacts and can orchestrate “closing the sale” of a complex program. Enjoys personal satisfaction in “closing a sale”. Persuasive and relentless in finding creative solutions to overcome objections. Thinks strategically. Employs a disciplined strategic approach to account planning to think several steps ahead in the selling process. Clear oral and written communication skills; effective presentation skills are essential. Must be highly organized, possess strong time management skills, high ethical standards and the ability to work within company guidelines and policies. Exceptional levels of self-confidence, integrity, persistence, resourcefulness, leadership and professionalism.
