Advance business development initiatives for a premier IP law firm.
Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, a global leader in intellectual property law, is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the firm's business development and marketing efforts across key West Coast markets. This role will focus on advancing strategic business development initiatives and increasing the firm's visibility in priority markets.
The Manager will work closely with attorneys, office leadership, and business development colleagues to advance strategic growth initiatives, including business development planning, market expansion efforts, and other priorities aligned with firmwide growth objectives. The role will also collaborate with the firm's Asia offices on cross-regional opportunities, providing market insights, and helping ensure alignment across business development activities.
The role in action:
- Lead business development initiatives that support West Coast market growth, strengthen client relationships, and advance firmwide strategic priorities.
- Partner with attorneys and office leadership to identify clients and key growth areas.
- Leverage market and competitive intelligence to inform growth strategies and uncover cross-selling opportunities.
- Support pitches, presentations, and other client-facing materials, while collaborating with colleagues across practices and offices to advance opportunities.
- Oversee client-facing events, industry programs, and networking initiatives that enhance the firm's visibility, deepen client relationships, and generate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the firm's Asia offices and business development teams to support cross-regional initiatives, share market intelligence, and ensure alignment on client and growth opportunities.
We are seeking candidates who:
- Bring 7+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or other professional services settings; experience in IP or corporate law services preferred.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Exhibit strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to leverage market intelligence and research tools to develop actionable business development strategies, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
